HIRING INFORMATION (FAQ's)
How big is the bus?
There are 17 seats including the driver, so you can carry 16 passengers. The bus is an LDV Convoy. This vehicle body is commonly used as Post vans and Council pick-up trucks. It is a little larger than a Ford Transit.
How do you calculate the hire costs?
Our starting point is very simple - £50 per day of hire, and you pay for the fuel you use. We will consider varying the hire costs if your journey is very short or very long or you think this cost should be dfferent so please just talk to us - the bus is a fantastic asset that we are willing to share with you (but we do need to keep it safe and roadworthy!)
How expensive will fuel costs be?
The bus uses diesel, and returns around 25 miles per gallon (about 5 miles per litre).
Who can drive?
Your driver must be a confident driver aged 25 to 70 with at least 4 years driving experience. The driving licence must be valid for this vehicle (most usually declared as a Cat D1 licence). You can read DVLA information for drivers on these webpages.
How do I know if the bus is avaiilable?
Take a look in the Google diary link below - it is the official booking diary. If the date is free, the bus is free. If there is a "provisional" note, contact me to enquire.
How do I make a formal booking enquiry?
Use the enquiry form. I will respond shortly and once we have agreed details and I have written it into the diary - consider it booked.
How do I collect and return the bus?
The nominated driver will need, by arrangement, to collect and return the bus from SE9. When you enquire I will give you full contact details. We will agree a time for you to collect and return the bus well before and after your journey.
Please look at the bookings diary to see when the bus is reserved.
