A short message to the Church from our minister,
Revd. Paul Rogers ...

From the Pastor’s Pen ...

head shot 1I have enjoyed my first couple of months with you all at EPBC, and have managed to eat and drink with many of you. It has been good to hear many stories of faith and life, of God working in and through EPBC, of hopes and dream for mission and ministry in the future.

But I wonder if there is more needed? I am currently reading a deeply challenging book – “Living Water” by the Chinese evangelist Brother Yun. In it he comments on Jesus’ miracle of turning water into wine: “It’s time for us to stop playing religious games with God. It’s time to get serious. It’s no longer good enough just to ‘believe’ in Jesus; we need to become his disciples. Churches should not be places where we come and get the water inside of us drained out. Rather, churches should be staging posts from where the living water flows into the communities and nations of the world. If the living water God has given you remains inside, it soon becomes stagnant. Stagnant water is dangerous and can carry disease. The living water must be replenished daily so it can flow out to others.”

May each one of us turn to God so that our living water may be replenished and flow out from EPBC into Eltham and all the world!
